Working together to apply technology innovation to end systemic racism and advance racial equity
Many non-profits, civic organizations, educational institutions and social impact startups are on the frontlines of addressing systemic racism. However, they are traditionally disconnected from technology innovation.
Today's advanced technologies make it possible to approach big challenges with new solutions that were not possible just a few years ago. By bringing together racial equity experts with funding and technology innovation, we’ll create a grant-based acceleration program that generates new solutions for racial equity in the US and globally.
We are looking for project proposals to unlock new solutions across the range of racial equity areas below:
We are seeking major philanthropic organizations that are committed to a future of racial equity, who will supply a grant funding pool of $10M+ and cover the program operational costs.
* Family Foundations *
* Corporate Organizations *
* Wealthy Individuals *
* Celebrity Influencers *
Mission-driven organizations who are on the frontlines of racial equity, have deep expertise in historical and current challenges of racial equity, and seek innovative ways to achieve their goals.
* Nonprofits *
* Civic Organizations *
* Education Institutions *
* Mission-Driven Startups *
New technologies allow us to address challenges in ways not possible just a few years ago. Technology leaders, developer and startup communities will help to fast track racial equity.
* Technology Companies *
* Startup and Dev Communities *
* Expert Mentors *
* Impact VCs *
How will the proposed project address a racial equity challenge, and to what extent? Is the application grounded in research and data about the problem and the solution? Is there a clear plan to integrate technology for real-world impact, and what are the expected outcomes?
Does the team have a well-developed, realistic plan to execute on the proposal? Does the team have a plan to access a meaningful dataset, technical expertise, and other factors needed to apply technology to the problem? Have they identified the right partners and domain experts needed for implementation?
If successful, how can this project scale beyond the initial proposal? Can it scale directly, serve as a model for other efforts, or advance the field?
